My agent through the transaction was Mr. Duane Lipham , Glendale AZ. I thought I would provide a couple of comments to inform of my experience in dealing with Mr. Lipham. First of all, I know that the decision to choose a LTC policy is a tough one. We all know that it's pretty much a given that you need auto insurance, homeowners, health, and life policies, without question. However, when it comes to LTC, many of us shy away or put the decision on the back burner because we think, I'll die before I ever need it, my kids or spouse will take care of me, or I'd rather invest or spend the money now, and worry about LTC later. All good reasons. However, suppose one day you do need LTC, and your spouse or children are unable to care for you, and you end up in one of those undesirable facility with extremely substandard care. We've all heard the horror stories. I guess I would choose not to spend my last days that way. Anyway, if you make the decision to search for an LTC policy, my suggestion is, do your research. There are many policies out there that can be tailor made to fit any needs and any budget. I am a federal employee, and have access to a very affordable LTC plan through my employer. It's a good plan, with decent coverage, and painless through payroll deduction. However, before I made a snap decision, I decided to search outside of the Government, simply to see my available options. I did a simple internet search, and was advised that several agents would contact me shortly to discuss. I received several calls from agents who had good offers on specific policies that "they" thought would be best for me. The agent I was most impressed with, and decided to contract with was Mr. Duane Lipham. Specifically, he let me do the talking. My greatest concern was, I wanted an explanation on how the Federal Government Plan differs from the LTC plans anyone can offer. Mr. Lipham spent several hours with me explaining the benefits and pitfalls of each policy. I was impressed with the fact that he did not automatically trash the Government policy and praise his own, he simply provided a detail comparison on each plan. I was also very impressed with the fact that he provided me with several detailed plans of at least four insurance companies so I could compare line by line issues, and make an informative decision. He gave me more than adequate time to review the material, and did not pressure me in the slightest to make a decision. I finally chose a policy best suited for me, however I still wanted some "refinements" to make it perfect. Mr. Lipham listened closely, discussed the changes point by point, and had the adjusted policy back to me within days. In closing, I would like to say that the overall transaction with Mr. Lipham has been a very pleasant one. He is very knowledgeable on the subject matter, and very capable of addressing the questions and concerns of his clients. I have had many discussions with my fellow Federal employees, and have recommended they contact Mr. Lipham, if the need for LTC insurance is part of their life plan. I would also highly recommend anyone who has the need for TLC plans, give Mr. Lipham a call, and see what he can do for you."
